Amazon is rumoured to be announcing a wall mounted Echo with a screen, alongside other new Alexa-based devices.

Amazon is rumored to be bringing a wall-mounted Echo with a screen and is expected to announce it today at an Amazon launch event. According to internal documents seen by Bloomberg, the wall-mounted Echo will have a 15-inch display and can be placed on a wall or stood on a surface using a stand. It’s intended as a smart home control panel for device control and will provide data on calendar appointments and palace delivery notifications.

The device will also be able to use video streaming apps, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and more. In addition to this, you will be able to view cooking videos and recipes.

The Echo does already have its own Echo line with built-in screens, but none of the models are capable of being mounted on a wall.

Amazon has said that the Echo speaker line won’t see any major revisions in 2021, with the report claiming that major updates can be expected in 2022.

Amazon is also apparently looking at creating their own sounders for TVs, one that could potentially incorporate Alexa with a  front=facing camera for video calls.

It seems that Amazon is looking to expand their range and possibly bring a new battleground into the mix, is now the time of the wall-mounted pads and speaker systems?
