Apple Music Listening Now shows real-time streams
Track the performance of your music as your listeners stream it with Apple Music Listening Now for artists.
As an artist there is nothing more special than watching the streams roll in. Apple Music Listening Now is a brand new feature for artists that lets you watch your tracks pop off in real-time.
Apple Music Listening Now is a brand new widget that artists can add to their Apple Music for Artists dashboard. It shows how many listeners have pressed play on one of your songs moment to moment.
The Listening Now widget shows streaming trends on your tracks for the past 48 hours. For example, Maximum Listeners reveals the highest number of listeners tuning in to your tracks at any one point in the last 48 hours.
Average Listeners is another stat withing the widget. It displays the average number of individual listeners streaming your music over the past 48-hour period.
Finally there is the Top Songs Now section. This displays your top 6 most played songs, giving you a snapshot of your fans’ favourite tracks.
For your Listening Now widget to start working your music will need to hit a minimum threshold of listeners. Apple don’t reveal how many listeners you need to hit, but explain it’s for privacy reasons. They clarify that you might see gaps in your data reports if you don’t meet the threshold.
Access your Apple Music for Artists platform to access statistics and easy customisation of your Apple Music artist profile.
The artist update comes after new updates for listeners on Apple Music. Earlier in the week, Apple updated how favourites work on Apple Music to make them more accessible in the latest iOS update.
